Michael Dubiaga, Jr

Michael Dubiaga is a teacher, musicologist and violinist. He received degrees in music education, violin performance, and historical musicology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 1975-1976 he carried out doctoral research in Verona, studying the life and works of the composer, violinist and singer, Daniel Dal Barba,(1715-1801). From 1980-1993 he was Curriculum Director of Incarnate Word Academy (high school) in Corpus Christi, Texas. Over the years he has taught various subjects, including history, the humanities, church history, foreign languages, and music. He has been adjunct professor of music at Corpus Christi State University and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Dr. Dubiaga has performed as a member of symphony orchestras and with the Ars Classica string quartet in Minnesota. His articles have appeared in English and German musical encyclopedias. He lives in Winona, Minnesota.
